In 2017-2018, I volunteered with the charity foundation "Light in Hands" in Moscow, Russia. At the time, the foundation was just starting, with the founder having recently registered it. The organization’s mission was to support families and women who had experienced perinatal or antenatal loss.

I met with women and families, conducted interviews, and photographed them along with meaningful objects. In total, I conducted around 15 interviews. Each story was unique (one woman, for example, tragically lost three babies, one after the other, within their first six months). Yet, the pain and the sense of social isolation were experiences they all shared.
What touched me the most was the strength of many women who went on to have “rainbow babies” after their losses. The section was successfully launched, and after my initial interviews, women began sharing their own stories. Today, the website hosts hundreds of personal accounts, offering people comfort and reminding them they are not alone in their grief.
